Lacey Schmidt

Psy.D.

Lacey Schmidt is a clinical psychologist and certified mindfulness and meditation teacher. She earned her doctorate in 2012 and has worked in a variety of clinical settings throughout Wisconsin, including corrections, a VA residential program, and a large healthcare organization.

Lacey’s training and lived experience in mindfulness deeply inform her approach to therapy. Her personal connection to mindfulness—and how it can carry us through tough times—led her to become a certified teacher, so she could offer these skills to others in a practical, therapeutic way.

She specializes in working with adults who have ADHD, experience chronic anxiety, or are navigating the mental and emotional toll of parenting—especially parents raising children with ADHD or big emotions. Many of her clients feel overstimulated, emotionally depleted, or stuck in cycles of overthinking and self-criticism. Lacey helps them reconnect with their strengths and find tools that actually work in daily life.

Her therapeutic style is genuine, grounded, and approachable. She meets clients where they are, helping them move through difficult emotions with compassion—and often a touch of humor.

Lacey uses a foundation of mindfulness-based therapy to build awareness and acceptance of the present moment, both internally and externally, so clients can respond more skillfully to life’s

stressors. She also incorporates cognitive behavioral strategies (CBT) to support more balanced thinking and healthier behaviors, including routines for self-care, productivity, and pleasure.
