Nnenna Nwankwo

Dr. Nnenna Nwankwo is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has extensive experience and expertise working with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a wide range of clinical settings to include school health clinics, community mental health agencies, inpatient settings, group practice, military base hospital and clinics, and the VA.  With a background in existential and humanistic psychology, she approaches therapy through a lens that goes beyond the addressing of symptoms and focuses on how individuals navigate the conditions of their human existence. This form of therapy lends itself well to presenting issues of anxiety, depression, navigating role transitions, identity, cultural and racial diversity, grief and loss.

 

She utilizes a person centered, empathic, and nonjudgmental approach which fosters a therapeutic relationship supporting change and growth.  Other treatment approaches include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solutions Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational interviewing (MI) and Mindfulness-Based Approaches.
